Pre-73 Premier A vintage-style preamplifier for microphone, line and tool to a channel. The signal path uses only discrete components such as resistors, condensers and transistors. The entrance and exit are balanced by the transformer, using two different transformers, each optimized for its purpose. This way the audio components were built before the integrated circuits became available. The circuit used in the pre-73 Premier similar to the preamplifying section of the classic module 1073 with a sound, hot, incisive, sweet and musical. These classic features have been listened to countless recordings over the years and a versatile sound that works very well on most sound sources and in most genres. The essence of this sound now available at a surprisingly low cost, making it available almost to everyone.
- The maximum gain in 80dB microphone mode, sufficient to manage passive belt microphones with silent sound sources
- The range of the Gain 20 selector-80db. In line mode, the gain is reduced by 30DB
- Modalit Boost AIR AIR Selectable with two high frequency positions, 3 or 6dB @ 30 kHz
- Filter pass-High 6DB / octave selectable at about 80Hz (HP1) or 200Hz (HP2)
- 14DB output pad that allows the user of overdrive the output stage and the transformer
- Selectable impedance in MIC, 1200 or 300 OHM mode, Change the sound of most microphones
- The entry impedance in 10kohm line mode
- High impedance tool input for any audio module, electric or low guitar
- Simple but effective LED 4 step output level meter
- Insert Jack to enter EQ and other units
- Selectable output at 600 ohm
- Internal wiring without connectors, all connections except those of the Gain Switch are welded for a pure signal
- Carnhill line input and output transformers built in UK
- Polystyrene capacitors in the amplifier circuits
- Tantalum capacitors in the signal path
