Modal Electronics presents the new CobalT8 that is added to the rich range of the Synthetizers of the English brand Skulpttsyntheser, Craftsynth 2.0, Argon8, Argon8m and Argon8x. The history of the British brand is two-wire linked to the synth mods 002 and modal 001 from which this new polyphonic synth draws inspiration. Cobalt8 is a 8-voice polyphonic synthesizer VA (Virtual-Analogue) that integrates two groups of oscillators with selectable algorithms and a brand new Morphable filter 4-Pole Ladder. The two independent oscillator groups include the classic sine waveforms, pulse, triangle and sawtooth together with 34 algorithms that allow advanced synthesis techniques, modulation options have always been strengthened Modal synthesizers with cross-Modulation (Sync, Ring Modulation and other options), PWM (Pulse Width Modulation), go waves morphing, bit crushing and filtered noise. In addition to the powerful and innovative synthetic engine, Cobalt8 integrates the brand new Morphable filter 4-Pole Ladder with Cutoff (Frequency), Res (Resonance) and Morph controls, for an extended range of creative options. The advanced Cobalt8 modulation options include three dedicated envelope generators for filter (FEG), amplitude (AEG) and Modulation (MEG) all accessible simultaneously and in a completely independent way with even reverse option. Cobalt8 Then offers a powerful modulation matrix with an excellent assignable slots and four fixed auxiliary paths, 12 modulation sources and 55 destinations. The Synth has 11 effects on board: Chorus, Flanger (POS), Flanger (Neg), Lofi, Ping-Pong Delay, Phaser, Reverb, Rotary, Stereo Delay, Tremolo and X-Over delay. The hardware has been built with high quality components: a steel container, front panel in anodized aluminum, infinite running encoder and a very bright OLED display. Among the many connections, Cobalt8 offers a USB port for the connection of the style to ModaLapp on computer, tablet or smartphone. It can be used to program preset, to manage them or to update the synthesizer firmware.
