The wide diaphragm condenser microphone was designed as a convenient alternative to the high-end C414 family. Like the C414, the C214 offers a supreme capsule of a thumb on an integrated suspension to reduce mechanical noise. A selectable 20DB attenuation pad allows recording of sources with SPL up to 156dB. A bass filter-Insertable cut allows close-up records without almost no proximity effects. The C214 captures the sound by combining a small capsule of the legendary C414 double capsule and patentactive technology-Plate, with consequent exceptional performance, similar to the famous C414 XLII.
